Procedure

1. 2. Using a sof!-faced hammer, carefully tap the cyl-
2. inder barrels between the intake and exhaust ports
3. to break the seal between cylinder barrels and
4. crankcase.
5. 3. Suppor the weight of barrels with hands, and
6. carefully pull the barrels from the studs and pis-
7. tons, Refer to Figure 9~24.
8. NOTE: To prevent damage to pistons or connect:
9. ing rods when removing barrels, make
10. sure the cylinder barrels and connecting
11. rods are supported at all times. Do not
12. allow the pistons or connecting rods to
13. drop against edges of crankcase,

15. 4. Thoroughly remove the seatan
16. t from the mating
17. surfaces of crankcase and cylinder barrels.
18. NOTE: The use of a gasket-removing solvent is
19. recommended. Do not scrape the sur-
20. faces with a metal putty knife or similar
