Kohler — Dry Type Air Filter Disassembly and Cleaning

For these Kohler models: KD 702, KD 702_1003_1404, KDW 1003, KDW 1404, KDW 702.

Before you start

  • Never clean the filtering element with highly flammable solvents - Danger of explosion!

Procedure

  1. Blow compressed air crossways over the external part and inside the cartridge at a pressure no greater than 5 atm.
  2. If necessary, knock the front of the cartridge repeatedly against a flat surface to dislodge dust.
  3. Inspect components: Cover (1), Filter element (2), Support (3).
  4. Dry the filter element with clean, dry air.

Tools required

  • Compressed air system (max 5 atm / 73.5 psi)

  • Filtration level 13-14 µm
  • Filtration area 4470 cm² (for 702, 1003)
