Before you start

  • Before reinstalling an air cleaner base that has been removed, make sure the four metal bushings, which reinforce the base mounting holes and maintain the proper torque of the mounting hardware, are in place.

Procedure

  1. 1. Install the gasket and air cleaner base, and connect the breather tube to the air cleaner base.
  2. 2. Install the air cleaner base mounting nuts and screws. Torque each fastener to 6.8 Nm (58 in. lb.).
  3. 3. Install the paper element, element retainer, and precleaner. See Service Paper Element, Step 6.

Specs & torque values

  • Torque: 6.8 Nm (58 in. lb.)
  • Metal bushings required
