Procedure

1. Stop the engine and allow it to cool.
2. Pull out the oil dipstick.
3. Wipe the end of the dipstick with a clean, dry cloth.
4. Insert the dipstick into the engine.
5. Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level between the Full and Add marks.
6. If the oil level is below L, check for leaks; if none, add oil to the Full mark.
7. If oil leaks are found, repair them before operating the engine.
