Before you start
- Recommended distance from a structure is dependent on state and local codes.
Procedure
- Aim exhaust away from or parallel to structure.
- Do not direct exhaust at play areas, patios, or congregation areas.
- Keep nearest window, vent, or door at least 5 feet from exhaust end.
- Maintain proper offset from structure.
- Keep windows and doors on adjacent walls closed.
- Keep furnace and similar intakes at least 10 feet from exhaust end.
- Install weed barrier and 3 inch thick gravel base or concrete pad.
- Keep plants, shrubs, and combustibles out of clearance area (min 4 ft from exhaust end).
- Refer to owners manual for other installation constraints.
- Keep plants, shrubs, and combustibles at least 18 inches from air intake.

- Combustible wall: 5 ft
- Non-combustible wall: 18 in min, 3 ft recommended
- NFPA 37 requires at least 5 ft from combustible material
