Kohler 12RES — Procedure to Convert from NG to LPG

Before you start
- Explosive fuel vapors can cause severe injury or death.
- Accidental starting can cause severe injury or death.
Procedure
- Place the generator set master switch in the OFF/RESET position.
- Disconnect the utility power to the generator.
- Disconnect the generator set engine starting battery, negative lead first.
- Turn off and disconnect the fuel supply.
- Remove the hose clamp and fuel hose from the hose fitting.
- Use a straight-blade screwdriver to remove the NG orifice from the hose fitting.
- Insert the LPG orifice into the hose fitting and tighten until snug.
- Slide the hose onto the hose fitting and secure it with the clamp.
- Disconnect ignition timing leads 65 and N5 for LPG.
- Connect and turn on the new fuel supply.
- Reconnect the engine starting battery leads, negative lead last.
- Reconnect the utility power to the generator.
- Start the generator set by moving the master switch to the RUN position.
- Check for leaks using a gas leak detector.
- Run the generator set and check the operation.
