Before you start
- Do not wash the paper element or clean it with pressurized air, as this will damage the element.

Procedure
- Place master switch in OFF/RESET; disconnect battery charger power.
- Disconnect battery, negative (--) lead first.
- Loosen cover retaining knob and remove cover.
- Remove element cover nut, element cover, and paper element with precleaner.
- Remove precleaner from paper element.
- Replace element if dirty, bent, or damaged.
- Check air cleaner base is secure and not bent or damaged.
- Check rubber seal on air cleaner stud; replace if necessary.
- Reinstall paper element, precleaner, element cover, nut, and cover.
- Reconnect battery charger power; reconnect battery, negative (--) lead last.
