Before you start
- Battery electrolyte is a diluted sulfuric acid. Battery acid can cause severe injury or death.
- Battery short circuits. Explosion can cause severe injury or death.
- The generator set will not start and circuit board damage may occur if the battery is connected in reverse.
Procedure
- Ensure that the starting battery is fully charged before placing the battery in service.
- Clean the battery posts and/or adapters if necessary.
- Install the battery post adapters, if needed.
- Place the battery in the housing.
- Verify that the controller master switch is in the OFF position.
- Connect the positive (+) lead to the engine starting battery.
- Connect the negative (--) lead to the engine starting battery.
