Before you start
- Do not wash the paper element or clean it with pressurized air, as this will damage the element.

Procedure
- Place the generator set master switch in the OFF/RESET position.
- Disconnect the power to the battery charger.
- Disconnect the engine starting battery, negative (--) lead first.
- Loosen the cover retaining knob (or two knobs) and remove the cover.
- Remove the element cover nut, element cover, and the paper element with precleaner.
- Remove the precleaner from the paper element. Do not wash the paper element or clean with pressurized air.
- Replace the element if it is dirty, bent, or damaged.
- Check the air cleaner base and cover; replace all damaged air cleaner components.
- Reinstall the paper element, precleaner, element cover, nut, and air cleaner cover.
- Reconnect power to the battery charger and then the starting battery, negative (--) lead last.
