Before you start
- MagnaPLUS generators may have voltage present at the lead terminals when the shaft is rotating. Do not permit operation until all leads have been connected and insulated.
- Never bar over the engine generator set using the generator's fan.
Procedure
- Visually inspect for loose parts, bad connections, or foreign materials.
- Bar the set over by hand at least 2 revolutions to be sure it turns freely.
- Check all wiring against proper connection diagrams; ensure connections are tight and properly insulated.
- Verify that all equipment is properly grounded (earthed).
- Clear the surrounding area of materials that could be drawn into the generator.
- Check all fasteners for tightness.
- Check all access plates, covers, screens and guards; reinstall and secure if removed.
- Review all prime mover prestart-up instructions and ensure recommended steps were followed.
- Remove masking materials; verify nameplates and safety warning/caution decals are in place and visible.

- Bar over by hand at least 2 revolutions
