Before you start
- Support engine according to Engine Manual.
- Tenon on generator frame flange pilots inside engine flywheel housing; withdraw generator in a straight line.
Procedure
- If oil lubrication, drain oil.
- Remove terminal box cover plate (9) and disconnect all external leads.
- Remove fan cover band (8).
- Remove generator driving disc-to-engine flywheel mounting bolts (Location B).
- Attach adequate chain hoist to eyebolt (1) or lifting ears.
- Remove generator frame flange-to-flywheel housing mounting bolts (Location A).
- Remove generator foot-to-rail mounting bolts.
- Pry at opposite sides to loosen generator frame from flywheel housing; withdraw in straight line.
