Procedure
- Open line switch or circuit breaker.
- Provide external source to blow warm, dry air through windings.
- Check generator system as Before Starting under Operation.
- Switch to Manual position if switch supplied.
- Disconnect and insulate terminal lug on F+ lead and CF+ lead if exciter has dual windings.
- Start engine and run for several hours.
- Shut down engine and check insulation resistance with 500 volt megohmmeter.
- Restore circuit after satisfactory insulation test.
