Procedure
- Remove lid by taking nyloc nuts and bolts off lid support arms; remove back hinge mounting screws and lift lid off.
- Disconnect battery cables and remove battery.
- Remove front cover by turning middle two and bottom two screws one half turn counterclockwise, pull out and remove.
- Shut off fuel, remove fuel line from regulator, remove all screws on engine end panel and remove oil cooler mounting bolts.
- Remove generator end panel screws and panel.
- Remove back panel after disconnecting AC and DC power cables.
- Remove the muffler heat shield.
- Remove stator assembly; unbolt stator isolators from stator bracket, use a three hook puller or rubber mallet to work stator off.
- Remove rotor assembly; remove rotor bolt, strike rotor shaft bearing at a 90 degree angle to break wedge loose and remove rotor.
- Engine may be removed from frame at this time.
