Procedure

  1. 1. Locate the engine nameplate to identify the engine
  2. model number.
  3. 2. Turn to the Specification Number Index. The first
  4. column lists the engine model numbers.
  5. The
  6. headings identify the groups of parts that make up the
  7. engine.
  8. 3. Identify the group most likely to include the service
  9. part number.
  10. 4. Find the group variation number at the intersection
  11. of the model row and the group column. Note the
  12. variation number. If 2 or more variation numbers are
  13. listed, note all variation numbers.
  14. 5. Page forward to locate the group identified in step 3
  15. or find the appropriate page in the Table of Contents.
  16. 6. Find the part on the illustration and note the item
  17. number of the part or find the part description in the
  18. parts list.
  19. 7. Select the part number that corresponds to your
  20. group variation. The first column lists the illustration
  21. item number. Find the variation(s) identified in the
  22. Specification
  23. Number
  24. Index
  25. in
  26. the
  27. appropriate
  28. column on the right side of the parts list table. Find the
  29. quantity used at the intersection of the item number
  30. row and the variation column. A blank space at the
  31. intersection means the variation/module does not use
  32. that part number.
