Before you start

  • Do not run the pump unless it is completely filled with liquid; danger of damaging the Mechanical Seal which depends upon the liquid for its lubrication.

Procedure

  1. Fill the suction line and pump completely with liquid before starting.
  2. Never run the pump dry.
  3. Mount non-self-priming pumps below the level of the liquid; suction line should slope down to the pump.
  4. If a pump cannot be mounted below liquid level, install a foot valve and prime by filling the pump full.
  5. Install a vent line (1/4" vinyl tubing) from the top plug in the pump casing up into the tank.
  6. On self-priming models, remove the Top Vent Plug and fill the priming chamber; flush and drain after use.

Specs & values

  • Use John Deere Spraymaster Vent Line Kit PM34300456.
