Procedure

  1. Select a suction line the same size as the pump suction port; suction line must be one size larger than the discharge line.
  2. Use a good grade of suction hose that will not collapse and is free of air leaks.
  3. Install the line strainer on the discharge side of centrifugal pumps in the line to the boom or spray gun.
  4. Mount the discharge port vertically at the top of the pump to eliminate air pockets.
  5. A relief valve or bypass line is not necessary and is not recommended.

Specs & values

  • Example: if 3/4" discharge line, use 1" suction line.
