Before you start

Procedure

  1. 10. Bleed fuel system. See BLEED THE FUEL SYSTEM
  2. in Section 04, Group 150 later in this manual.
  3. 11. If applicable, connect water in fuel sensor connector.

  5. 1. Thoroughly clean fuel filter/water bowl assembly and
  6. surrounding area to keep from getting dirt and debris
  7. into fuel system.
  8. 2. Connect a fuel line to filter drain and drain all fuel from
  9. system.
  10. 3. Remove final fuel filter element (A). See REPLACE
  11. FINAL FUEL FILTER ELEMENT later in this Group.
  12. NOTE: Fuel lines may be connected to different filter inlet
  13. and outlet ports depending on engine application.
  14. 4. Disconnect fuel lines from fuel inlet (B), air bleed valve
  15. fitting (D) (if applicable), and fuel outlet (C).
  16. 5. Remove cap screws and final fuel filter base. Remove
  17. final filter.
  18. 6. Replace parts as necessary.
  19. 7. Install filter base on engine cylinder head. Tighten cap
  20. screws to specifications.

  24. 50 N•m (36.9 lb-ft)
