Before you start

  • Always use a new seal after the intake/exhaust valve is disassembled. Since the one for the exhaust valve is marked with yellow paint, do not confuse the intake and exhaust valves.

Procedure

  1. Apply engine oil to the lip.
  2. Push with the inserting tool for installation.
  3. Measure and check the projection of valve stem seal to keep proper clearance between valve guide and stem seal.

Tools required

  • Valve stem seal inserting tool (No.5 of 4.1.2)

Specs & torque values

  • Valve stem seal projection (by model): 3TNV82A 15.7-16.0mm
  • 3TNV84(T)/4TNV84/88 18.7-19.0mm
  • 4TNV84T 9.9-10.2mm
  • 4TNV94L/98(T) 11.7-12.0mm
  • 4TNE106(T) 15.4-15.6mm
