Before you start
- DO NOT overtighten.
Procedure
- Drain water and contaminants from clear water separator sediment bowl by opening drain valve and operating primer until bowl is clear.
- Loosen secondary (final) fuel filter outlet line or remove cap and open air purge valve (if equipped).
- Pump hand primer on primary filter until a steady flow of fuel without bubbles comes out.
- Continue pumping hand primer and simultaneously tighten outlet line connection to specification.
- Start engine and run at high idle for 3–5 minutes.
Specs & values
- Fuel Filter Outlet Line—Torque 24 N·m (18 lb-ft)
