Before you start
- It is important to note which type of seal is being replaced; the spacer provided in the kit MUST be installed only when replacing the older two piece seal which included a wear sleeve.
Procedure
- Place JDG10549 seal guide sleeve over crankshaft nose.
- Install unitized front crankshaft oil seal over guide sleeve.
- Install JDG10549 seal press tool over guide sleeve and tighten forcing screw until tool bottoms out on guide sleeve.
- Remove seal press tool and guide sleeve.
- If the oil seal removed had a wear sleeve, install the spacer from the kit over the crankshaft nose against the crankshaft shoulder, 1-2 mm prior to contacting the seal.
