Before you start
- The gasket removed during pump disassembly shall not be utilised again. Always use original spare parts.
- Hold the pump driving gear to avoid interference or crawling during timing gear rotation.
Procedure
- Disassemble starter and use tool to rotate flywheel.
- Rotate flywheel to annul gear slacks and engage pin in camshaft gear port.
- Find top dead centre with tool 99395097 if cap not included.
- From timing side remove cover and loosen union fixing nut.
- Loosen fixing nuts to enable moving pump backwards using 99340035 extractor.
- Withdraw gear from pump shaft.
- Withdraw pump from studs together with gasket.
- Assemble pump pre-set in its housing.
- Tighten fixing nuts locking pump flange.
- Assemble cover including gasket.
- Lock nut to 90-95 Nm.
- Connect all pipelines and electrical connections.
