Before you start
- When removing the radiator filler cap while the engine is still hot, cover the cap with a rag, then turn it slowly to release the internal steam pressure. This will prevent a person from scalding with hot steam spouted out from the filler port.
Procedure
- Remove the radiator cap.
- Open the drain cock at the radiator lower part to drain the coolant in the radiator.
- Drain away the coolant from the engine by loosening the water drain plug at the rear of alternator on the left side of cylinder body.
Tools required
- radiator drain cock
