Ingersoll Rand — Installation From Beneath The Beam (1/2 to 5 ton Trolleys)

Installation

From a Ingersoll Rand owner's manual — check it applies to your exact model before use.

Procedure

  1. Refer to Dwg. MHP0785 to position spacer washers for measured beam flange width (W)
  2. The hoisting mechanism must be located on the centerline of the trolley; place spacer washers (7) each side of hanger shaft (9)
  3. Place equal numbers of the remaining spacer washers on the outside of each side plate
  4. Install locknuts (8) against one side plate only
  5. Spread side plates sufficiently to allow installation on the beam
  6. Push side plates together, ensure all spacers are correctly positioned and install remaining locknuts
  7. Tighten locknuts to minimum torque settings in Specifications Table
  8. Check the 'D' dimension and total clearance between beam and trolley wheel flanges
  9. Make certain that the capacity of the hoist does not exceed the rated capacity of the trolley
  10. Verify beam/rail stops are securely installed and conduct initial operating checks

Specs & values

  • Locknut (item 8) torque PT005-8: 75 - 90 ft. lbs (102 - 122 N m)
