Procedure

  1. 1.
  2. Remove the APU housing access panel.
  3. 2.
  4. Locate and remove the switch and float mounting bracket as shown below.
  5. Location of bracket mounting nut (3/8”)
  6. in lower portion of APU housing.
  7. The pad shear switch and water
  8. intrusion float bracket is located on the
  9. outside of the APU housing.
  10. Remove bracket bolt with a 5/16”
  11. wrench. Set mounting hardware aside.

  18. PAD SHEAR Magnetic Switch and Water Intrusion Float, contd.
  19. Cut wires to pad shear sensor. Use
  20. Phillips screwdriver to remove old
  21. switch.
  22. Remove the mounting nuts which
  23. hold the water intrusion float to the
  24. bracket. Replace float and verify the
  25. magnet can slide freely up the
  26. mounting post, and that it rests
  27. against the retaining clip at the
  28. bottom of the mounting post.
  29. Replace magnetic tamper switch
  30. with Phillips screwdriver. Splice switch
  31. wires to original wire harness. Replace
  32. the mounting bracket to its original
  33. position on the APU housing.
