Hercules — Water Pump Removal and Installation

Before you start
- Always use a waterproof sealant on all attaching screws when installing the water pump.
Procedure
- Drain coolant; remove side panels, fan and belt.
- Remove pump attaching screws and lift pump from engine.
- Scrape gasket and cement particles from block and pump surfaces.
- Reinstall by reversing removal, using Permatex on all attaching screws.
- Use a new gasket and tighten attaching screws evenly and alternately.
- Examine water hoses and replace if necessary.
Specs & values
- Impeller to shaft housing clearance .005 to .015 in.
