Hercules — Water Pump and Fan Assembly Removal

Before you start
- Do not immerse shaft and bearing assembly in cleaning solvent.
Procedure
- Drain radiator and remove radiator, hoses, and support brackets.
- Remove fan by removing four bolts and lock washers.
- Remove fan belt(s) by loosening alternator attaching bolts.
- Remove bypass hose and disconnect water inlet hose.
- Remove three bolts and lock washers securing water pump and inlet pipe; remove assembly.
- Disassemble pump by removing pulley from adapter.
- Remove retaining ring and use puller to remove pulley adapter.
- Remove cover plate and gasket.
- Press shaft and bearing assembly out of pump body and impeller.
- Press seal out of pump body.
