Procedure

  1. 1. Before installing the cylinder heads, clean out the carbon deposits
  2. by scraping or brushing. If the valves are to be ground or other-
  3. wise serviced, see "Valves".
  4. 2. Clean the cylinder block and cylinder head contact surfaces.
  5. 3. Install new cylinder head gaskets on the cylinder block. The gas-
  6. kets must be assembled with the fire ring in place, also, be sure
  7. lube o11 hole grommet is in place.’ Use any good commercial cylin-
  8. der head gasket cement such as Perma Seal or Sure Fire Spray Cement.
  9. 4, Place cylinder heads and valve assembly on the block.
  10. 5. Start the head nuts and tighten evenly, using a torque wrench.
