Hercules — To Install the Oil Pump

Procedure
- Spot the engine with No. 1 cylinder in firing position if the engine has been moved or rotated.
- Turn the oil pump drive gear so the flat on the flange is to the outside of the pump.
- With the flat towards the camshaft, insert the oil pump into the cylinder block and rotate to the correct position for assembling the attaching screws.
- Install the oil pump attaching screws.
- Install the oil pan and fill the crankcase to the proper level with the correct grade of lubricating oil.
