Procedure

  1. 1. Cement new gaskets on the oil pan and new saddle seals on the front cover and rear main bearing cap
  2. saddles, making sure of careful, proper installation. Illustration No. 1 (B-B) shows the correct installa-
  3. tion of the saddle seals to insure against possible oil leaks.
  4. 2. Place the oil pan on the bottom of the engine and carefully start all screws and washers. Draw up the
  5. screws progressively, which permits the pan to center properly at both ends.
  6. 3. Install the drain plug and the bayonet gauge.
  7. 4. Install the starter and connect the electric cables.
