Hercules — To Assemble the Water Pump
Repair & overhaul

Before you start
- Press on the outer flange of the seal to avoid damaging the seal.
- Press only on the outer bearing face of the bearing and not on the end of the shaft.
Procedure
- Press the new seal (E) into the pump body (F); press on the outer flange of the seal.
- Press the shaft and bearing assembly (D) into the body (F); press only on the outer bearing face.
- Install the snap ring (C); supporting the pump shaft on the outer shaft end, press the impeller (G) on to the shaft.
- Support the pump on the impeller end of the shaft and press the fan drive pulley (B) on to the shaft and install the snap ring (A).
- Install the new cover gasket (H) and pump cover (I) with the screws as removed.
- Test the rotation of the fan to see that it does not bind.

Specs & values
- Impeller should be pressed on to permit .010 inch clearance between a straight edge and the impeller
