Procedure

  1. 4. Install mechanical puller on hub of pulley. Puller holes are in
  2. pulley for this purpose.
  3. c. Disassembly: Disassemble and inspect crankshaft damper and pulley
  4. assembly as follows:
  5. 1. Remove cap screws securing crankshaft damper to pulley.
  6. 2. Separate the crankshaft damper from the crankshaft pulley assembly.
  7. 3. Check damper timing mark to be sure they are in perfect alignment
  8. with timing marks on edge of pulley. See Illustration No. 17. If
  9. they are not, replace damper, as this indicates that rubber in damper
  10. is broken or damaged.
  11. 4, A viscous damper which has no rubber is sometimes used and should be
  12. inspected regularly and replaced if dented.
