Hercules G-1600 — Engine Oil Change and Oil Filter Replacement

Procedure

1. Drain oil after engine has been operating and while oil is hot.
2. Remove drain plug from oil pan and drain into a suitable container.
3. Select proper grade of oil per Recommended Lubricating Oil Specifications.
4. Reinstall oil drain plug and gasket and fill crankcase to FULL mark on bayonet gauge.
5. Remove and discard spin-on full-flow oil filter.
6. Apply thin coat of engine oil to rubber gasket on new filter and screw onto adapter.
7. Tighten filter approximately one-half turn after gasket contacts filter base.
8. Add one extra quart of oil when refilling to compensate for filter.
9. Check for oil leaks after starting the engine.
