General Motors — Flame Arrestor Cleaning

From a General Motors owner's manual covering: Carb 5.7L, MP 5.0L, MP 5.7L, MP 6.0L. Check it applies to your exact model before use.

Procedure

  1. Loosen the clamp securing the flame arrestor to the air intake tube or throttle body.
  2. Remove the flame arrestor.
  3. Clean the flame arrestor with solvent and dry with compressed air.
  4. Reinstall the flame arrestor and tighten the clamp(s) securely.
