Before you start

  • On models equipped with CKP sensor, ensure CKP
  • front cover upon installation.
  • sensor is fully seated and held stationary in bore of
  • 4 Qn models equinned with CKP sensor. install CKP sensor. Tighten CKP sensor hold
  • models equipped with CKP sensor may result in
  • dish. Dished side of CKP reluctor ring must face engine
  • component damage and could affect system
  • fully seated may result in erratic engine operation.
  • marks align at TDC of cylinder No. 4.
  • Failure to properly align CKP sensor reluctor ring on
  • front cover.

Procedure

  1. Install Woodruff key in crankshaft (if removed). Using Crankshaft Sprocket Installer
  2. Install and tighten camshaft sprocket bolts to specification. See TORQUE
  3. On models equipped with CKP sensor, install and align CKP sensor reluctor ring. See
  4. On all models, apply RTV sealant to Woodruff keyway in crankshaft balancer. Using

Tools required

  • remove crankshaft sprocket, use Sprocket Puller (J-5825-A).
  • 1. Install Woodruff key in crankshaft (if removed). Using Crankshaft Sprocket Installer
  • Damper Puller/Installer (J-39046), install crankshaft balancer. Install crankshaft pulley.
