General Motors 8.1 — Spark Plug Wire Replacement

Procedure

1. Disconnect the spark plug wire at each spark plug, twisting each wire 1/2 turn.
2. Pull only on the boot to remove the wire from each spark plug.
3. Disconnect the spark plug wire from each ignition coil, twisting each wire 1/2 turn.
4. Pull only on the boot to remove the wire from each ignition coil.
5. Install the spark plug wire at each ignition coil.
6. Install the spark plug wire at each spark plug.
7. Push sideways on each boot to inspect seating and reinstall any loose boot.
