Before you start

  • Always install a NEW oil pump driveshaft retainer during assembly.

Procedure

  1. Remove the nuts and the crankshaft oil deflector.
  2. Remove the oil pump bolt.
  3. Remove the oil pump, oil pump driveshaft, and driveshaft retainer.
  4. Separate the oil pump, driveshaft, and driveshaft retainer.
  5. Discard the oil pump driveshaft retainer.
  6. Inspect the oil pump locator pins for damage; replace if required.
