Before you start
- Eye protection required to avoid spray from spark plug hole when cranking engine
- Explosion and fire risk: store fuel in well-ventilated area away from ignition sources
Procedure
- Push and hold decompression lever down; pull recoil starter/crank engine 2-3 seconds without starting.
- Pull decompression lever up; pull recoil slowly until resistance is felt, then gently release.
- Completely drain fuel tank or completely fill fuel tank to proper level.
- Treat diesel fuel with approved fuel additive and water abatement material for long-term storage.
- Change engine oil before storage.
