Before you start
- Damage may occur if the battery is connected incorrectly.
Procedure
- Check tag for oil viscosity/classification; drain and refill if necessary.
- Fill unsealed battery cells with distilled water; recharge to 100 percent or replace.
- Clean and wipe the entire generator.
- Reconnect the battery; observe polarity.
- Turn off all electrical loads; add fuel; start the engine.
- Allow the unit to warm up thoroughly.
- Apply electrical loads to at least 50 percent of rated wattage capacity.
- When thoroughly warmed up, shut down the engine.
