Generac — Return to Service After Storage
For these Generac models: 004666, 004666-1, 005011, 005011-0, Model 004666, Model 005011.

Before you start
- Do not use tap water in the battery.
- Damage may occur if the battery is connected incorrectly.
Procedure
- Verify that utility power is turned off and that the AUTO/OFF/MANUAL switch is set to OFF.
- Check the tag on the engine for oil viscosity and classification.
- Verify that the correct recommended oil is used in the engine.
- If necessary, drain and refill with the proper oil.
- Check the state of the battery.
- Fill all cells of unsealed batteries to the proper level with distilled water.
- Recharge the battery to 100 percent state of charge, or, if defective, replace the battery.
- Clean and wipe the entire generator.
- Reconnect the battery, observing battery polarity.
- Open the fuel shutoff valve.
- Start the unit by moving the AUTO/OFF/MANUAL switch to MANUAL and allow it to warm up thoroughly.
- Stop the unit and set the AUTO/OFF/MANUAL switch to AUTO.
- Turn on the utility power to the transfer switch.
- The generator is now ready for service.
