Generac — Removal from Service (Storage Preparation)
For these Generac models: 004666, 004666-1, 005011, 005011-0, Model 004666, Model 005011.

Before you start
- Never store battery on concrete or earthen floor.
Procedure
- Start the engine and let it warm up.
- Close the fuel shutoff valve in the fuel supply line and allow the unit to shut down.
- Once the unit has shut down, it will signal a low oil fault.
- Set the AUTO/OFF/MANUAL switch to OFF and turn off the utility power to the transfer switch.
- While the engine is still warm from running, drain the oil completely and refill the crankcase.
- Attach a tag to the engine indicating the viscosity and classification of the oil in the crankcase.
- Remove the spark plug(s) and spray fogging agent into the spark plug(s) threaded openings.
- Reinstall and tighten the spark plug(s).
- Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry room on a wooden board.
- Clean and wipe the entire generator.
