Procedure

  1. Verify utility power is off and AUTO/OFF/MANUAL switch is OFF
  2. Check oil viscosity/classification tag and drain/refill if necessary
  3. Fill battery cells with distilled water and recharge or replace the battery
  4. Reconnect the battery observing correct polarity
  5. Open the fuel shutoff valve
  6. Insert the 7.5A fuse and start the unit in MANUAL to warm up
  7. Turn on utility power to the transfer switch and set switch to AUTO
