Before you start
- Hot oil may cause burns; allow engine to cool before draining oil
Procedure
- Clean area around oil drain hose and plug
- Remove oil drain plug and oil fill plug to drain oil completely
- Install and tighten oil drain plug
- Remove oil filter by turning counterclockwise; discard properly
- Coat gasket of new filter with clean engine oil; turn clockwise until gasket contacts, then tighten additional 3/4 turn
- Fill oil sump with recommended oil
- Wipe up spilled oil
- Dispose of used oil at proper collection center
