Before you start

  • Steps 2 and 3 MUST be completed before the engine is started following circuit board replacement, or an overspeed shutdown may occur at normal rated operating speed.
  • If "OVERSPEED" shutdown occurs on engine start in step four, reverse initial pot settings in steps two and three.

Procedure

  1. Locate the "Fine" and "Coarse" potentiometers and the red LED on the circuit board.
  2. Turn the "Coarse" pot all the way counterclockwise (CCW).
  3. Turn the "FINE" pot all the way clockwise (CW).
  4. Start the engine manually; let it stabilize and warm up at normal rated no-load speed; adjust governor if needed.
  5. Slowly turn the "Coarse" pot clockwise until the red LED just turns on.
  6. Slowly turn the "Fine" pot counterclockwise until the red LED just goes out.
  7. Slowly turn the "Fine" pot clockwise until the red LED just turns on.
