Before you start

  • Before performing the voltage regulator substitution, check that the alternator is out of operation (stopped), and will not be driven during the process.

Procedure

  1. Locate the frequency jumper of the voltage regulator.
  2. Check the jumper position, which originally shall be in 50 Hz.
  3. Put the jumper in the position of 60 Hz.
  4. Change the driving machine rotation from 1,500 rpm to 1,800 rpm.
  5. Turn on the generator group and adjust the alternator voltage through the voltage trimpot Vad.
  6. Turning the voltage trimpot (Vad) counterclockwise decreases voltage; clockwise increases voltage.
  7. After changing the frequency jumper from 50 Hz to 60 Hz and increasing rotation, the alternator is apt to operate in 60 Hz.
