Generac — Test 12 – Adjust Voltage Regulator

For these Generac models: 389/206/163cc, 410cc, GP1800, GP3250, GP5000, GP5500, GP6500, GP7000, GP8000.

Applies to: Generac Gp1800, Generac Gp3250, Generac Gp5000, Generac Gp5500, Generac Gp6500, Generac Gp7000, Generac Gp8000

Procedure

  1. Remove cover from end of alternator assembly.
  2. Remove two screws holding down the voltage regulator
  3. Leave AVR connected to stator and brushes
  4. Set VOM to measure AC voltage.
  5. Connect VOM across a 240VAC socket as shown in
