Before you start
- Batteries give off explosive hydrogen gas.
Procedure
- Check fluid level in all battery cells; add only distilled water if needed.
- Make sure vent caps are installed and tight; clean terminals if necessary.
- Connect battery charge cable plug to 12-VOLT D.C. receptacle.
- Connect red clamp to positive (+) battery terminal.
- Connect black clamp to negative (-) battery terminal.
- Start engine; keep idle control OFF while battery recharges.
- Shut down engine when battery has charged.
