Before you start
- Engine must be at room temperature.
Procedure
- Make sure engine is at room temperature.
- Remove spark plug wire and keep it away.
- Remove four valve cover screws.
- Rotate engine to Top Dead Center compression stroke.
- Loosen rocker jam nut; turn pivot ball stud with 10 mm allen wrench.
- Set clearance 0.002-0.004 inch (0.05-0.1 mm) with feeler gauge.
- Hold pivot ball stud; tighten jam nut to 174 in/lbs; recheck clearance.
- Install new valve cover gasket and re-attach valve cover.
