GE — Fuel Filter Element Change

Procedure
- Open the drain cock and drain the filter shells.
- Loosen cover nut until the center bolt is free, then lower the shell assemblies.
- Remove and discard used filter elements. Wipe inside of shells clean.
- Remove protective wrapper from new elements, place element in shell and press down firmly. Fill primary filter shells with clean fuel oil.
- Use new cover gaskets and place shells against filter heads. Engage center bolts and tighten cover nut securely.
- Close drain cocks. Start fuel booster pump.
- Loosen air vent screws on secondary filter. When the fuel stream is free of air bubbles, close vent screws.
- Check shell gaskets and vent screws for leaks.
