Procedure
- 1. Remove the connecting rod bearing from the

- 3. Remove the piston rings using a suitable piston
- 4. Store the piston, pin and connecting rod to ensure
- 5. Using an arbor press and Piston Pin Removing
- 1. Apply a light coat of Motorcraft Super Premium
- 2.
- 0.406mm (0.008-0.016 inch) for top ring, 0.33-
- 0.50mm (0.013-0.019 inch) for second ring, and
- 0.254-0.762mm (0.010-0.030 inch) for oil control
- 3. Check the ring side clearance. Refer to Section
- 01. Side clearance for both compression rings
- 4. Make sure the connecting rod bearings and the
- 5. Make certain lock slots in cap are on the same
- 6.
