Procedure
- Rotate engine until No. 1 piston is on compression stroke and align timing marks.
- Install distributor with rotor pointing at number one terminal position in cap.
- Make sure oil pump intermediate shaft properly engages distributor shaft.
- Install distributor holddown bolt and clamp; do not tighten.
- Connect distributor to wiring harness and install cap and ignition wires.
- Set initial timing to specification and tighten distributor holddown bolt.
- Recheck initial timing and readjust if necessary.
